What does God's love look like? What does your love look like?
We choose how to love - active or passive; encouraging or discouraging; do's and don'ts
I. God's love looks like - At least 20 descriptions of it here in 13 verses (v.1-3)
A. It does not draw attention to itself
B. It is a giving love, not a taking love
C. It is a sacrificial love - it is pure
II. 5 Descriptions (of the above) (v.4)
A. It behaves patiently - in good and in tough situations
B. It is based in kindness
C. It is not motivated by jealousy
D. It is not self-seeking
E. It is not out for display
III. 4 Descriptions (of the original 3) (v.5)
A. It is not conceited or rude
B. It does not insist on its own way
C. It is not irritable
E. It is not resentful
F. It sides happily with the truth (v.6)

A. It bears everything in silence
B. It shows unquenchable faith
C. It hopes under all circumstances
D. It endures without limit
E. Ever abiding - "never fails" (v.8)
F. It is not fragmenting but pulls things together (v.9)
G. It is complete - "perfect" (v.10)
H. It is not childish in its purpose but childlike (trusting) (v.11)
I. It is ever growing into a clearer and complete picture of Jesus on our lives (it moves us toward grace, mercy & forgiveness) (v.12)
J. It is the greatest, deepest, and most motivating and encouraging of all of life's essentials
